This West Kelowna lakefront home was already impressive, but with the original use of such vast amounts of dark wood- the client was left feeling weighed down and dreaming of a lighter look.  

While getting to know the client better, she fondly described how she would like the home to better reflect amore laid back and Boho beachy feel. We both agreed certainly not a ‘kitchy beach’ aesthetic but one of high sophistication.

The home demanded a certain level of furnishings and the client shared an appreciation of the bespoke and refined. We worked closely together, embarking on a journey of layering in a completely new Interior Colour Palette while staying mindful of the existing elements such as Flooring, Hood Vent, and Backsplash that would remain original. We chose a new Dining Table & Chairs, Coffee Table, Area Carpets, occasional Tables & Chairs, artisan textiles, and a completely customized handblown glass pendant arrangement from the Czech Republic for the Dining Area.

Everything was coming together beautifully when the unforeseen of moving arose.  Our design plans shifted as this home was prepped for sale, and our focus changed over to the newly acquired home. Months later when the handblown Dining Area pendants arrived, it was somewhat bittersweet; as we wouldn’t be there enjoy seeing the completed work.  But knowing the new home owners are enjoying this beautiful lighting arrangement helped soften the unresolved feeling of not seeing it fully concluded.

Sometimes that’s the way it goes, but it was undoubtedly cathartic to see the project completed with an update from the Electrician that he didn’t break a single light.
